Chakra Check Meanings
Back to Articles List
When most people think about their chakras they think of them being either open or blocked. Over the years and through my studies I have found that there are varying degrees of imbalances for the chakras. I use a pendulum to check the chakras and based upon its spin will tell me how that chakra is currently doing. The following is how I interpret the chakras in my chakra check sessions. I have listed them from the “best” to the “worst”. In addition, I have given each chakra status a 5 star rating to give you more of a visual breakdown of how I see these. Again, it will go from 5 stars as the best and 1 star as the worst.

Balanced (Open): The energy of the chakra is the best that it can be. ★★★★★ (5 stars)
Minor Imbalance: This means that the energy is still there, but it is not flowing like it is supposed to. I used to refer to this as "closed" but that worried so many people, so I renamed it. Basically our chakras can easily open and close especially when we’re dealing with stress. You can think of it as a shield to protect yourself from what is going on in your life. While a minor imbalanced/closed chakra is something that should not cause alarm, it is always important to take the steps to bring it back into balance and release what is causing stress to the best of your ability. When the closed energy is left unchecked it can start to manifest as imbalances in your life. With a minor imbalance it does not take much work to become balanced again. It requires the least amount of work. ★★★★ (4.5 stars)
Overactive (Excessive): The chakra is balanced, but there is more energy flowing than I’d like to see. Depending upon which chakra is overactive will determine how you would go about bringing it back into perfect balance. The chakra that I see overactive the most is the Heart chakra. In this case, it is an indication that you’re actually giving too much of yourself. Make sure to take time for yourself and practice self-care. An overactive chakra can lead to emotional/mental or physical symptoms. ★★★★ (4 stars)
Underactive (Deficient) Emotional/Mental Imbalance: This means that the energy of the chakra is not flowing properly and has manifested in your life either emotionally or mentally. I will often work with crystals that work more on the emotional or mental levels during a healing session when I see this imbalance. ★★★ (3 stars)
Underactive (Deficient) Physical Imbalance: This means that the energy of the chakra is not flowing properly and has manifested physically in your life. Basically it has made its way from the energetic imbalance to now show up physically in your body. I will often work with crystals that work more on the physical level during a healing session when I see this imbalance. ★★ (2 stars)
Blocked: This means that no energy is flowing in the chakra. It requires the most amount of work to bring back into balance. I would recommend, at the very least, a 10-minute distance Reiki healing that focuses on cleansing and balancing this chakra. ★ (1 star)
