My Review
Spirit Guide Portal connects us with our spirit guides, but I also feel that this deck has an energy that feels ancestral as well. Even the artwork, in my opinion, reflects this. The insight and thought provoking questions for each guide offer you more than your typical oracle cards.
Each message in the guidebook includes three sections:
• I AM: In this first section the guide tells you their story to help you connect with the energy and messages that they have to offer you.
• I OFFER: That leads us to the wishes, guidance, insight, and encouragement that your guide has for you.
• I ASK: Each guide also asks three thought-provoking questions. These would make excellent journal prompts. This is probably my favorite of the three sections.
When I initially started working with this deck I was a little confused with the “I Am” section as it didn’t make sense to how it could be helpful in the reading. However, it made sense when I read the author’s intentions for this section. She states in the guidebook, “In the ‘I Am’ section, you will immerse yourself in the Spirit Guide’s captivating story and encounter their most powerful memory, forging a profound connection with their essence. These cards will unlock the wisdom of your Spirit Guide and illuminate the unique qualities they bring to your spiritual journey.” Once I looked back at the “I Am” sections with this new perspective it made those sections click with how they tie into the overall message from that spirit guide.
As someone who leans on the guidebook, my only complaint about this deck is that the guidebook is not in alphabetical order nor are the cards numbered. This means that you’ll have to use the “Finding Your Guide” table of contents at the beginning of the guidebook.
As for the cards themselves, they have a satin finish with beautiful blue gilded edges. They have a smooth glide when shuffling and don’t tend to stick together. The cards are flexible and easy to shuffle, but I have noticed that they will hold a slight curve if you riffle shuffle.
Spirit Guide Portal would be a nice addition for anyone looking to connect in more with the energies of your spirit guides and ancestors, but also for those looking to dive more into journaling and are looking for journal prompts to work with. You could easily focus on asking the deck what you would benefit you most to work on at this time and see which spirit guide steps forward for you.
